Grace Achieng Okonji

Ms. Okonji has a Master of Arts in Economics and over 20 years of substantive knowledge and experience related to economic policy development, policy dialogue with governments, institutional development, partnership building with civil society and donor community, inter-agency coordination, programme analysis, design, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and  development from a gender and human rights perspective.

Ms. Okonji has had a long service with the UN: Senior Gender Advisor for United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), South Sudan in 2009/2010; From 2005-2009, Ms. Okonji was an Programme Specialist with the Africa section of UNIFEM (Now UN Women), New York. From 2001-2004, she worked with UNIFEM East and Horn of Africa as the Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist. From 1992-2001, Ms. Okonji was programme Specialist with UNDP, Kenya in charge of sectors of Poverty, private sector, Micro and small enterprise, HIV/AIDS and gender.
